The California Association of Public Insurance Adjusters will hold a continuing education session followed by legislative day next week. It will fittingly be held in Sacramento, California, so that public adjusters can visit government leaders. Assuming that I finish and do not sink during the Islands Race to San Diego on Merlin this weekend, I will be making a presentation with Amy Bach of United Policyholders next Tuesday, February 27.

Our presentation, Significant and Relatively Recent California Property Insurance Legislation, is a great seminar to make certain you are “caught up” on current California law and are not adjusting losses in the past.

Here is the full agenda:

Public adjusters increasingly need to be involved with legislative affairs. Property insurance carriers used to be much less in with property insurance legislation rather than automobile and other insurance matters. This is no longer the case. The insurance industry lobby has public adjusting on its radar.

Finally, I will have my book, Mavericks & Merlins: Sailors And Renegades Leave Shore, What About You?, for free signature. But only for those who show up for this event next week.

Thought For The Day

Lawyers are typically some of the worst leaders, in part because we tend to think we know it all, and in part because leadership is not taught in law school.
