It has been announced that Paul Handerhan will begin his term as President of the Florida Association of Public Insurance Adjusters. George Keys, who served as President for the past 13 months after the unfortunate passing of Harvey Wolfman, will now hand over the reigns to Paul Handerhan.

I have had the pleasure of working with Paul on the Homeowners’ Policy & Claims Bill of Rights Working Group where he often shares as a voice for homeowners, expressing many of common themes that he recognizes from his field work as a public insurance adjuster and policyholder advocate. Paul often enlightened the group with the practical ramifications and pitfalls that policyholders now encounter and how that could change (for better or for worse) depending on how certain regulations are put into place.

Paul Handerhan has been on FAPIA’s Board of Directors for more than 8 years, serving as Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. In 2010, Paul was the Legislative Liaison connecting FAPIA with the action in Tallahassee. Paul is also the founder of the Florida Association of Insurance Reform (FAIR).

George Keys who will now serve as the Chair of the Past President’s Committee, asks the membership to continue to support the efforts of FAPIA and is confident that Paul and the Board of Directors will serve and represent the association well.
