A kick-off to FAPIA starts this Friday, May 2nd, with FAPIA Ambassadors and donors to meet at the Florida International University, South (Kendall) School of Engineering for a live presentation by two Directors at the International Hurricane Research Center: Dr. Shahid Hamid and Dr. Eric Salna.

The presentation will be followed by a tour of the Wall of Wind (WOW), an engineering marvel housed at the Florida International University Engineering Campus. The WOW is a category 5 hurricane simulator. There are only two in the country. Very few spots remain available to attend this event as there is limited seating and attendees should plan to bring an umbrella.

Saturday, participants have a free day to network and relax. FAPIA’s First Annual Golf Tournament. Registration has now closed at the Diplomat Golf Course, but it’s not too late to sign up for kayaking at Oleta River, making plans to go to the theatre, or Gulfstream Park.

The Spring Conference begins on Sunday, May 4th at 10:a.m. There will be a Sunday Brunch offered with chefs and made to order omelet stations as well as other delicious brunch items.
