Register now for the 2013 Spring TAPIA Conference. The Texas Association of Public Insurance Adjusters will meet in Dallas next week for this expanded two–day event. President Doug Morris of Continental Adjusters, together with the officers and board of directors will welcome adjusters on Wednesday afternoon at the Hilton Lincoln Center.

Registration for the conference can be done online – current members pay only $95.00. Non-members are also welcome and encouraged to attend this seminar and join TAPIA.

The opening course “Public Adjusting 201” will be sure to draw a big crowd on Wednesday, especially because Merlin Law Group’s Javier Delgado will present this course with panel members Clay Morrison, Jim Beneke, and Anthony Slania, Esq. Public Adjusting 201 is the follow up to the course PA 101 held at the fall conference. The welcome reception will follow on Wednesday evening.

Our own Chip Merlin will give the closing course on Thursday, “The Ins and Outs of Business Interruption Coverage.” As most of our readers know, Chip’s style is very interactive so I recommend you brush up on the hot topics of business interruption before next week. Be sure to check out Michelle Claverol’s weekly post on BI and valuation issues here.

Other courses and topics include

  • Legislative Update
  • Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Co-Insurance
  • Cutting Edge Law Update

The complete agenda is available here.

New regulations have been proposed for public adjusters licensed in Texas. Check out the Spring Newsletter for a sneak peak at the topics up for discussion next week.
