Major Florida Sinkhole Legislation Filed Today

A Proposed Committee Substitute bill significantly impacting sinkhole claims was drafted over the weekend and has been filed this morning.

Here is a copy and comments will come later.

I am in Tallahassee today talking about these matters with our representatives.

for the past 5 years I have been dragged along by insurance companies with my sinkhole claim. Now they want to make this law retroactive? If this doesn't smell of corruption I don't know what does.

Insurance companies don't mind taking my money but as soon as I make a claim I am treated like a criminal.

Why do we pay for this again?

Just like government, stick it to the homeowners and public while their wallets get fat off of us. If this doesn't show that legislators are in the pockets of the insurance companies I don't know what does!

Here is the link for the Florida Senators website with all the email addresses and contact information. I know I'm going to be sending emails and writing letters and getting every homeowner I know to do the same thing. Taking away sinkhole coverage would be like taking away hurricane coverage & I'm sure if this passes that will be next.

Pretty soon there will be no point to having homeowner's insurance because it won't cover anything. We will all be paying just for a piece of paper that has absolutely no value.
