What can Citizen's do to improve claims handling?
In an ongoing effort to improve Citizens' policyholder and applicant services, Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink announced appointees to the legislatively-created Task Force on Citizens Property Insurance Claims Handling and Resolution. The first meeting took place Monday, May 21st at the Citizens Claims Center in Jacksonville.





We have Citizens Property insurance and we had a fire in our house the week of Halloween. My husband was burned and spent many days in the hospital and months going back and fourth to Jackson Burn Center! We have been going through so much trying to get our house back to normal as well as my husbands burns. The fire was in the kitchen and we lost everything in the kitchen as well as smoke damage in the living room etc!
We got one check from Citizens which did not even cover the cost of the appliances we had and as of today March 11th we have yet to see another check!! We have been without a kitchen for months and we have had to pay out of pocket for everything!! We never had a claim before and this is the way they treat us??? People with no insurance get help alot faster!!
Things need to change when it comes to insurance! My husband was out of work for months and we have had NO KITCHEN since Halloween!! Why do we have insurance?? I am so fed up with the system!! We have never been without insurance and this is the way they say Thankyou:)
THINGS REALLY HAVE TO CHANGE!!!
